Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel releases on PC and consoles as a free-to-play title

Konami Digital Entertainment has released the digital card game Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel on PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The game is free-to-play with in-app purchases available.


Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel lets players play the official Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game digitally. The game includes staple cards from the series like Exodia the Forbidden One, Blue-Eyes White Dragon, and Dark Magician, and contains over 10,000 cards in total. And in a first for the series, card artwork and text are officially supported in 4k on PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 5, Xbox One X, and Xbox Series X. The resolution of the PC version will vary based on system specs.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel supports the Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG/TCG Master Rules. In addition to building decks and battling online, there’s also Solo Mode which, “guides you through storylines of the themes from the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG.” Plus, there’s a tutorial so players can learn the game while honing their skills.

Konami has stated there will be various events and tournaments available and that they plan to use the game for the top Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG/TCG event, Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship, as well.

While the title is free-to-play, there’s an in-game currency called gems which can be used to purchase card packs and accessories from the shop. The game can also be linked with the official companion app Yu-Gi-Oh! Neuron, and players can look at the deck lists of fellow duelists from around the world to see how they can improve their own decks.


Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is now available on PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Apps for iOS and Android are also planned.
