Nintendo has released its latest patch for Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. According to the patch notes, this latest Ver.1.1.3 update, “Fixed some issues for more pleasant gameplay.” And it looks like the Menu Storage glitch was included among those fixes.

Menu Storage is an exploit where players can move their character around while having the menu open. This makes it possible to skip various events and is used by speedrunners to greatly reduce their times. On top of that, the glitch can also be used to clone Pokémon.

This Menu Storage glitch was initially patched out on December 1, with Ver.1.1.2 (related article). Presently, speedrunners are using Ver.1.1.1 where the glitch is still available for their runs.

However, after Ver.1.1.2 was released, another method was discovered to recreate the Menu Storage glitch. The new method involves using the Pokémon move Fly. With this method, it’s possible to clone Pokémon even in Ver.1.1.2. The fixes in Ver.1.1.3 likely include this new method of performing the Menu Storage glitch.

On Twitter, a number of users have posted saying the glitch has been patched. It also sounds like the glitch involving using NPCs in the Grand Underground to make money has been patched as well.

The Japanese patch notes also mention that an increase to the number of players that can gather in Union Rooms both locally and online will be implemented in a later update. Greetings and Capsule Decoration functions are also planned for a future update. Furthermore, Trading via the Global Wonder Station (GWS) and the Colosseum function at Pokémon Centers are also set to be added in a future update.
