Konami Amusement has announced the schedule for Bombergirl’s PC open beta test. It will be held from November 1 to November 4 at 5am JST (November 3 at 1pm PDT). An open beta for Bombergirl was previously held in January but ended early due to technical issues. Now after 10 months, Konami has resumed the public testing.

Bombergirl is a Bomberman spin-off that incorporates 4 vs 4 MOBA-style gameplay. There are a number of playable Bombergirls to choose from, each with unique characteristics. Each team aims to destroy the opposing team’s home base while collecting items and taking out enemies using bombs.

Konami initially started its service as an arcade game. The version currently being tested is for Konami Amusement Game Station, a cloud gaming service that allows users to play Konami’s arcade games on PC/Mobile. As for Bombergirl, cross-play with the arcade version is not supported, but some player data will be linked.

The open beta in January was conducted for the purpose of testing game features and server loads in preparation for the official launch. However, players encountered matchmaking issues immediately after testing began. The beta test was put on pause on day one and resumed service two days later. Even still, the game was plagued with problems related to online play and Konami had to cancel the beta just seven hours after its resumption.

Konami mentioned at the time that another open beta would be held down the line. And now, about 10 months later, they’ve finally started the new beta test.

The previous open beta was ticket-based, meaning you had to pay money for each match, just like the arcade version. Konami changed the system this time around and you no longer need tickets to play the beta. Player Class and Bombergirl Rank won’t change by playing the beta version, and start-up stamps and gacha won’t be available, so you can’t acquire new Bombergirls or skills during the test phase.

Play data from the open beta will be carried over when the official service begins. However, there is a possibility that Konami will reset some or all of the data before launch.

This testing is aimed at Japanese users and requires a Konami account and e-amusement pass to participate. Other details can be found on the official website (in Japanese only).
