Project LUMINA announced the schedule of updates for MELTY BLOOD: TYPE LUMINA. A total of four new playable characters will join in future updates scheduled between this winter and next spring, as part of paid DLC. New character stories and battle stages will be added as well. The list of characters, release dates, and pricing will be announced at a later date.

Furthermore, free update ver1.03 is scheduled to release on November 12 (JST). It will focus on bug fixes and minor balance adjustments. The details are listed on the official website. The aim of the balancing changes is to adjust “areas where the characters’ intended strong points were insufficient, or their weak points were considered too weak, etc.”

Currently, all characters in the game are said to be strong, except for Saber. Ver1.03 will buff Saber with an aim to improve “mid-range efficiency such as strengthening hitboxes and reducing recovery.” Adjustments will be made to other characters as well.

In terms of bug fixes, the issue with the high jump where it was difficult to input ahead of time, will be fixed. The developer will also fix the bug with Network Matchups, where “rollbacks occurred during round calls after skipping the opening animation in Network versus play.”

Free updates will continue beyond ver1.03, and the developer plans to expand the training mode features, make further balance adjustments, and fix bugs in the future updates.

MELTY BLOOD: TYPE LUMINA is a 2D fighting game based in the world of Tsukihime –A piece of blue glass moon– and is the latest game in the MELTY BLOOD series. It brings the series into high definition with all-new character visuals. On the gameplay side of things, the battle system has been revamped and implements a simple-to-execute combo system.

The game includes Noel and Vlov Arkhangel, two new characters that appear in Tsukihime –A piece of blue glass moon–, and Saber from the Fate series as a part of its 14-character roster. As with previous games in the series, the development is being handled by FRENCH-BREAD with a story penned by Kinoko Nasu for the story mode.

The game launched on September 30 and is currently available on PC (via Steam), Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
