KEMCO (Kotobuki Solution) released a new trailer for their upcoming action-golfing game RPGolf Legends. The game is scheduled to come out in 2022 for PC (via Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

RPGolf Legends is a combination of action RPG and golf. A girl and the spirit of a golf club must work together in a fantasy world where “an evil force has sealed all the golf holes” and save golf from extinction. They will travel through various biomes such as grasslands, deserts, snowfields, as well as floating islands, and play golf in order to proceed with their journey.

Indicators for wind direction and wind speed are displayed on the screen, and you also have to take your surroundings into account to make an effective shot. As for means of transportation, you can ride in a caddy cart or travel through the sky with an airship. The game will also feature fishing.

Although this is mainly a golf game, you are going to fight monsters as well. And your trusty golf clubs are your weapons of choice. There’s also a job system in which you’ll be able to take advantage of job skills to perform unique actions. For example, the hooded sorcerer-like job can create shock waves around you and can even run on water. The knight-looking job can crush hard rocks. You’ll be able to explore new territories by switching jobs.

The game is being developed by the Japanese company ArticNet. Their previous title RPGolf was released back in 2017 for PC and mobile, but the Steam user reviews are “mixed” with only 27 reviews submitted. It seems like the idea of mixing golf with RPG, and how RPG elements affect the golf part, were well received. But some users felt the execution of combat and the design of golf courses were lukewarm.

So, can they overcome the problems of its predecessor? We have to wait and see for its release scheduled in 2022.
