Sausages battle it out in recently announced Sausage Legend 2

On May 31, Japanese mobile game developer Milkcorp announced they are currently developing Sausage Legend 2 and are aiming for a 2021 release. The announcement also comes with a trailer for the game which can be seen in the tweet below.

Sausage Legend 2 is a fighting game where sausages duke it out in intense matches for sausage supremacy. The same developers released the original Sausage Legend in 2016 for iOS and Android where players control sausages that have been skewered by forks. Fighting is done by storing up power and swinging your sausage, which is dangling off of a fork, with well timed attacks. Reduce your opponent’s HP to pulverize their sausage and win the match.

While Sausage Legend only has sausage in the name, it features a varied menu of sausages to choose from. There’s everything from regular hot dogs and fish sausage to bananas and the magma dog, which looks like it was burnt to a crisp in the fires of hell.

New sausages are unlocked through a gacha system where players spend coins (in-game currency) they receive through playing the game and sausages each have their own unique abilities. The game also has a system to power up your sausages by making them hotter and firmer.

Besides the CPU battles in single player mode, players can also take their sausage fights online. The rules are simple, but there are tricks to delivering big hits to your opponents. Strike when your opponent leaves a big opening after a missed attack and try to control the flow of the fight in the mid-range game. There are even websites dedicated to strategies and tactics for the game so there’s a passionate group of players for the title.

Sausage Legend 2 looks to be introducing a number of new elements as well. In the trailer, the player icons are humans now and there are three sausages lined up. The first game was a one-on-one sausage battle, but Sausage Legend 2 looks like it will feature 3-on-3 battles from a human perspective.

The trailer also asks if the Sausage Warriors will win and earn their freedom or lose and be made into sausage. It seems like a story section is being added where Sausage Warriors lay it all on the line lest they become sausage themselves.

The developers have also said online matches have been rebuilt from the ground up and that the previous title will continue to receive updates until all the sausages have been released in the game. Sausage Legend 2 is scheduled to release in 2021 and Sausage Legend is currently available as a free-to-play title on iOS and Android.
