During the Japanese version of the June 9 Nintendo Direct, doujin circles Team Shanghai Alice and Shanghai Alice Reprise announced Touhou Koumakyou: New Classic ~ The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil. This is a remake of the Touhou Project series’ 6th entry, slated for launch on September 10th Along with the announcement, the Steam store page and other links have been released.
Interestingly, this will be the first official remake of a Touhou game. According to the Steam store page, the graphical assets and music have been remastered and rearranged by a now “older and wiser ZUN (self-described).
Touhou Koumakyou: New Classic ~ The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil is scheduled for release on September 10 for PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PS5.
