The Exit 8 creator releases official sequel “Platform 8”, with similar backroom vibes and new gameplay

Japanese solo indie developer Kotake Create released Platform 8, the official sequel to The Exit 8, on May 31 for the PC (Steam).

Platform 8 is a short walking simulator game in which you need to navigate and escape from a seemingly endless train. The game features strange anomalies you need to look out for much like The Exit 8, but according to the developer, the gameplay and escape method will differ this time around. Based on in-game screenshots revealed on Steam, the beloved balding guy from the first game seems to make an appearance in Platform 8 too.

The Exit 8, Kotake Create’s previous title, achieved viral fame online and has sold over 500,000 million copies on Steam alone. The hit game has also been ported to the Nintendo Switch by PLAYISM.

As an aside, Kotake Create has been working on another project titled Strange Shadow since before The Exit 8’s release, so those interested should keep an eye out for updates.

Platform 8 is now available on Steam
