Chilla’s Art’s new game, Cursed Digicam, has you taking pictures of ghosts Fatal Frame-style
Chilla’s Art, a development studio comprised of two brothers dedicated to making Japanese indie horror games like The Radio Station, The Bathhouse, and Shinkansen 0, has announced its latest title. Cursed Digicam is set to be released for PC (Steam) on January 10, 2025. As a person who finds a special camera, it is your job to take pictures of ghosts and upload them to a website to save your loved ones.
Cursed Digicam’s narrative is shrouded in mystery. The game begins in a park- the place where a person important to the protagonist was last seen. The story progresses as more supernatural snapshots are uploaded to the website, with expositions about the mysterious circumstances you find yourself in as rewards. Unlike other Chilla’s Art games like The Bathhouse and Parasocial which have multiple endings, Cursed Digicam only has one ending for players to experience. Based on the development studio’s track record, expect the conclusion to be depressing.
Cursed Digicam was first announced to Patreon supporters at the end of November 2024. As a paranormal photo-taking game, it draws many parallels to Koei Tecmo’s famous Fatal Frame franchise. Cursed Digicam is the first Chilla’s Art game that runs on Unreal Engine 5, which explains the graphical and fidelity improvements over the studio’s past titles.
Cursed Digicam is set to release on PC (Steam) on January 10, 2025.
