After stuffing fans’ Christmas stockings with an early demo of its upcoming romance visual novel, anemoi, Japanese game studio Key has suddenly announced that the game will not be releasing on its previous intended date of January 30, 2026. It will instead be coming out on April 24, 2026, provided there are no other complications.
According to Key’s official statement, the developers determined that more time was needed to achieve the initially planned quality set for anemoi. The extra three months will be spent refining the title until it reaches a quality that would meet both the fans’ expectations and the developers’ standards. They sincerely apologized to fans, retailers, media outlets, and distribution partners who have been eagerly awaiting the game’s launch.
Key made sure to note that those who pre-ordered anemoi will still have their reservations valid following the change in release date.

Scenario writer and director of anemoi Shun Sayuki (who also directed Stella of The End and was a production assistant on Summer Pockets: Reflection Blue) expressed his heartfelt apologies for not being able to meet the originally planned January release date and has asked fans for “a little more time” while he and the rest of the team “work without compromise” to deliver the best version of the game possible.
Anemoi is now set to release on April 24, 2026 for PC (Windows).
