JRPG-style roguelike survival game The General Saga announced for PC and Switch by prolific Sega co-developer

O-TWO, co-developer of numerous Sega titles, has announced a new roguelike survival game inspired by Vampire Survivors.

Japanese game company O-TWO announced The General Saga on March 12. The new survival action game is scheduled to launch on March 27 for the PC (Steam) and Switch.

The General Saga is a JRPG-reminiscent roguelike that draws inspiration from Vampire Survivors. Unlike Vampire Survivors, however, The General Saga is not a twin-stick shooter and does not feature auto aim. Instead, players take on the role of generals – you level up to recruit allies and come up with optimal attack formations. What kind of allies to recruit, what kind of formations to place them in, and what direction to have your allies face on the field are the key aspects to survival in The General Saga.

As you progress in the game, the outcomes of your battles are recorded in a chronicle, your exploits becoming part of a 1,000-year history.

The General Saga is being developed by peakvox, an original game development brand owned by O-TWO. O-TWO is a co-development company that’s been credited on games such as Sega’s Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O., Shining Resonance Refrain and numerous Sonic titles, as well as Cygames’ Granblue Fantasy Relink.

Their brand-new original IP The General Saga is scheduled to launch on March 27 for the PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch.
