Publisher Annapurna Interactive has released a short teaser trailer for a new title from Uvula, a studio led by Keita Takahashi. As of now, the title is listed as “???” and no information regarding supported platforms or a release date have been revealed.

The 30-second teaser starts with a closeup of a snoring child’s mouth who is sleeping next to what is likely the family dog. The dog then licks the child’s face bringing the wholesome teaser to an end.

At this point, nothing has been revealed about what kind of game it is, and there isn’t much in the trailer to draw any conclusions from. The YouTube description simply states, “Something new from Uvula.” The visual style is simple, but attention is drawn to the character’s mouth, and the dog licking the character is somewhat elaborate, so maybe there’s some sort of connection to the gameplay.

Uvula’s Keita Takahashi is known as the creator of the Katamari series, along with other titles like Noby Noby Boy and Wattam which are popular for their unique settings, vibrant visuals, and interesting game mechanics. Takahashi’s most recent release is Crankin’s Time Travel Adventure for the Playdate, a handheld gaming system with a crank attached.

Along with the release of the teaser, Uvula also made public that they are looking for an engineer to join the team. “Our new project is ramping up production and needs a dedicated engineer with 3D gameplay experience to help bring our ideas to fruition.” From this, it sounds like the upcoming title might be a 3D game. The job listing page also suggests that the game will feature a wide variety of gameplay elements and that it’s being developed with Unreal Engine 4. We’re looking forward to learning more about just what kind of game this will be.
