Artdink has announced that new paid DLC for the Nintendo Switch version of A-Train: All Aboard! Tourism will be released in Japan. The DLC, titled A列車で行こう ひろがる観光ライン (A Ressha de Ikou Hirogaru Kankou Line), will be available on November 3 (JST) for 2,728 yen (around $20).
For those who don’t own the full game, there will also be a Guidebook Pack, which includes the game, DLC, and a 200-page guidebook, that will go on sale the same day for 10,406 yen (around $77).
A-Train: All Aboard! Tourism is the latest title in the A-Train series, which has spanned over 35 years. Players take on the role of a railroad company president and experience what it is like to run a railroad town by engaging in various tasks such as railroad management, urban development, taking out bank loans, trading stocks, and more. The game takes on the new theme of tourism and makes it possible to develop your town by building a variety of tourist spots.
The newly announced DLC further expands on the tourism development options. The main additions are as follows:
– A total of 33 additional real-life Japanese tourist trains and bullet trains.
– Eight additional types of buildings, including museums and art galleries.
– The ability to place statues and objects out the front of the station, as well as place tourist attraction signs along roads.
– As the population increases, things such as food stalls and billboards will appear in town, giving it a livelier feeling.
– You can create a railway museum and put up to 20 of your favorite trains on display.
– It will be possible to limit online sharing to “Trains only” and “Terrain only”.
– A new function that allows you to create terrain templates.
– A photo mode where it will be possible to change the camera and lighting, adjust filters, decorate photos with stamps and frames, and more.
The DLC will only be available for the Japanese Switch version of the game. We asked Artdink whether the DLC would also be released for the Steam version, but they said it was still undecided.
Furthermore, on Railway Day in Japan (October 14), A-Train: All Aboard! Tourism will be receiving a major free update. In addition to various bug fixes, a number of buildings and items are also being added to the game. More specifically, places such as a racecourse, villa, and a train cleaning facility, and objects like palm trees and traffic mirrors. This free update is also planned to be released for the overseas version of the game.
