Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’s world is so vibrant and unique that it’s a shame the game does not have its own photo mode yet. This hasn’t stopped people from taking screenshots, however, with some photographers churning out some awe-inspiring shots. Creator BelPlaysGames recently revealed their process of taking landscape shots in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 without characters blocking the way.
The trick is to place your player character beside an object that is roughly the same height as them and spin the camera around. This causes the camera to clip through the character, giving you a nice view of the environment behind them. While Bel initially thought there was nothing they could do about the AI-controlled party members other than hope that they don’t end up in-frame, removing them from the party fixes the problem.
This process of taking photos is similar to how many players take screenshots in Elden Ring – a game that likewise boasts a lot of photogenic locales but does not have a photo mode. Considering the number of players who take screenshots of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, hopefully Sandfall Interactive will add an official photo mode to the game tout suite.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is available for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X|S.
