Zenless Zone Zero hits 50 million downloads worldwide
MiHoYo’s latest action role-playing gacha game, Zenless Zone Zero, recently celebrated 50 million downloads worldwide within just 2 days of release. As a show of good faith, the developers have prepared a thank-you gift of 1,600 Polychrome currency to all players who have reached Inter-Knot Level 1 before the release of patch 1.1. This is on top of the multiple free rewards that miHoYo has already given out to early adopters of Zenless Zone Zero.
Zenless Zone Zero primarily takes place in New Eridu – a haven where humans are safe from the monstrous Ethereals and the Hollow portals they come out of. As a Proxy that helps navigate these Hollows, players recruit and control agents – using their wide array of unique abilities to defeat Ethereals and collect unique artifacts from unsafe locations. Zenless Zone Zero is a live service game whose story and gameplay will take different twists and turns as it evolves.
While the developers are the ones creating Zenless Zone Zero, they note that players have just as important a role to play as they do. MiHoYo has stated that it will be “listening and recording advice provided by each and every Proxy” (player) so that it can create the best Zenless Zone Zero experience possible. New environments are planned, as are more agents and a better gaming experience. MiHoYo also plans to provide regular news about the game’s optimization and progress through periodic developer updates. Zenless Zone Zero is still in its early stages of release, but if MiHoYo’s other games are anything to go by, the developers will likely be sticking with it for the long haul.
