Nankidai, creator of cult horror visual novel Your Turn to Die -Death Game by Majority-, recently announced that the final chapter of the game, originally scheduled to release in 2025, will be postponed. On his X account, the developer apologized for the delay and asked fans to “wait just a little bit longer,” though a specific release date is yet to be announced.

“Sorry everyone, I was aiming to complete Your Turn To Die by the end of this year, but despite the effort, I just couldn’t make it in time…!! I apologize to everyone who’s patiently waiting, but I want to pour all my efforts into developing the game so I can complete it without any regrets, so please wait just a bit longer.”
Your Turn to Die -Death Game by Majority- has come a long way since its initial launch in 2017. Starting out as freeware, the game spans multiple chapters and segments which were released over the years, with the latest one (Chapter 3, Part 1-B) having dropped in 2021. Due to the story being unfinished, the game came out as a paid Early Access title on Steam in 2023, and was planned to get a full version within 6 to 12 months. However, as Nankidai explained in one of his earlier X posts, “given the current development circumstances, it might be difficult for the game to release on schedule.” As the title celebrates its 8th anniversary, the second part of the 3rd Chapter, which is supposedly the final one, is still under development. Considering its legacy as a free title, Your Turn to Die will be available full for free, but only after the Steam version comes out, Nankidai said.
Despite not being fully out yet, the game has acquired steady following since its early days, and has reached cult status in the death game visual novel genre alongside series like Danganronpa and Zero Escape. Over on Steam, the title currently has an Overwhelmingly Positive rating out of 1,500+ reviews.
