Visions of Mana director Ryosuke Yoshida leaves NetEase-owned studio and joins Square Enix
Ryosuke Yoshida, former Devil May Cry 5 developer and director of Visions of Mana, has announced his departure from Ouka Studios. According to a message posted on Yoshida’s personal X account, he left the NetEase-owned game studio as of October 31.
At the same time, the creator has announced that he will be joining Square Enix starting December this year. Yoshida did not give any details about his decision to leave Ouka Studios, but expressed gratitude to the company and his team members.
For more context, Ouka Studios is a “hybrid” game developer headed by former Bandai Namco Studios’ veteran Tetsuya Akatsuka, with offices in both China and Japan. Ryosuke Yoshida initially joined NetEase Games in 2020, after a 13-year run at Capcom. He worked in China for three years before joining Ouka Studio’s Japanese branch. With the successful release of Visions of Mana behind him, it seems the creator will be continuing his career at Square Enix.
Final Fantasy Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi and other creators congratulated Yoshida on the announcement.
