Venus Vacation Prism’s gacha-free system rewards you for making its 6 girls into in-game celebrities

Venus Vacation Prism –Dead or Alive Xtreme- is an upcoming romance game featuring six girls from Dead or Alive Xtreme Venus Vacation (DOAXVV). The more in-depth, standalone title is set to launch on PS4/PS5 and PC on March 6, 2025. The official homepage and X account recently shed some light on one of the game’s key mechanics, which will involve taking the best sexy snaps and candid photos you can to make everyone a big fan of the girls in Prism’s cherrypicked cast. This replaces DOAXVV’s gacha system and allows you to unlock more outfits for your favorites. 

First up, Venus Vacation Prism not only promises steamy realism courtesy of Koei Tecmo’s Katana Engine, but it will also improve upon DOAXVV’s camera controls. You can now fine-tune the exposure, angle and composition of your shots. At any time during a scene or conversation with the girls, you can whip out your camera and snap a photo. The girls in the game, including Honoka, Misaki and Elise, may dynamically react to your camera and strike a pose. 

The next step, after snapping some great pics, is to submit your photos to the Venus Islands’ head office. They are then used as genius marketing for the Venus Festival. At the end of each chapter, the girls’ likes and follows will be revealed- the better the photos, the more engagement and followers they will get. Unlike DOAXVV, Venus Vacation Prism will not be gacha or gift based. Instead, you will unlock new outfits when you complete certain parts of the game or each girl gains more followers. You can then replay the episodes with different outfits.  

Advancing through Venus Vacation Prism will give you even more opportunities to take that perfect picture. As the game’s producer Yasunori Sakuda previously explained, clearing one of the girl’s stories unlocks a time-stopping watch- “This will allow you to stop time at any point during a conversation with a girl during an episode and take photos of her in that moment from your preferred angle.”   

Venus Vacation Prism –Dead or Alive Xtreme– is scheduled to be released on PS4/PS5 and PC (Steam) on March 6, 2025. It will be playable in English, Japanese, Chinese and Korean. More info about the game and characters can be found on the official English website.
