Upcoming Switch game is played by shaking a Joy-Con with your butt
Ketsu Battler, which roughly translates to “Butt Battler,” is an upcoming 2-player fighting game for the Nintendo Switch. The game does exactly what it says on the tin, revolving around battles fought with your butt.
In Ketsu Battler, opposing characters clash in swordfights, but the catch is that they face each other butt-to-butt, wielding their swords using their buttocks. Much like the controlled character, the player is also forced to engage their gluteus maximus in order to play. “The biggest feature of this game is that you don’t hold the controller in your hands,” reads the publishers’ description.
Instead, you use your butt to control your character. As per the image below, you’re supposed to stick a Joy-Con in your pants (not underpants, please) so that it’s supported by the waistband. From there, the shake of your behind translates to swings of your fighter’s weapon, and apparently, you can even build up power and “thrust your butt out” (?) to unleash a special move. And no, this is not an off-season April Fools’ article but an actual upcoming game.
Ketsu Battler is currently in development by Japanese casual game developer KAYAC and Shogakukan’s CoroCoro Comic editorial department. The game is scheduled to launch on December 12 for the Nintendo Switch. For now, the title seems to have only a Japanese release planned.
