Upcoming Isekai anime game will let you experience the worlds of popular anime and their characters

Colopl have announced that they are working on a new free-to-play anime-style isekai game. Appropriately named Isekai Isekai, it seeks to provide users with a new experience centered around “being transported to another world” and collecting your favorite anime characters.

Colopl is a Japanese game company best known for their work on smartphone games. They co-developed Dragon Quest Walk with Square Enix, and have experience releasing licensed Disney games among others. They have also branched out into broadcasting TV anime, holding concert events, and launching other apps.

Isekai ∞ Isekai game coming soon

Although not much information has been released at the time of writing, Isekai ∞ Isekai seems like an ambitious project. Although it’s not clear what the gameplay will be like, Isekai ∞ Isekai is positioning itself as a new type of multifaceted entertainment. Isekai ∞ Isekai will be centered around the isekai genre- where the protagonist is suddenly transported to another, often fantastical, world (sometimes via truck death). Well-known isekai franchises include Re: Zero, Overlord and Mushoku Tensei. Isekai ∞ Isekai will feature successive collaborations with popular isekai series, allowing users to freely “enjoy other worlds in your own way.”

It will also have a social element – the online service Isekai ∞ Isekai BBS was also announced at the same time. This will be a space where fans can gather to discuss their favorite isekai novels, anime, games and find out about new series.

Isekai ∞ Isekai is scheduled to release on PC (Steam), iOS and Android. The launch date is TBA. It also not known whether it will be available in languages other than Japanese. The official website currently has a countdown clock, suggesting that more info will be released on the 16th
