Japanese developer Cygames recently announced their financial results for the fiscal year ending September 2025, revealing a significant increase in both revenue and profit. The huge step-up compared to the previous fiscal year is linked to the success of Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond and the international release of Umamusume: Pretty Derby, with the two games being crowned CyberAgent’s (Cygames’ parent company) second and third biggest hit in 2025 respectively.
As reported by gamebiz, the company’s operating profit reached over 33.1 billion yen (about $213 million USD), marking a 103.3% increase year-on-year, with a 3.0% rise in revenue (137.5 billion yen; equating to around $886 million USD). Cygames also witnessed a growth in net profit, which increased by 136.5% compared to the past year, reaching over 21.7 billion yen (about $140.2 million USD).
Ever since its official English version hit Steam and mobile platforms on June 26, Umamusume: Pretty Derby, which was already fairly popular across Asia, undoubtedly became Cygame’s blockbuster in the West. Around half a year since its release, and the hype is as strong as ever (so strong that it’s turning some of the players into real-life racehorse owners), with steady player counts even after the launch-peak. The title also won the Best Mobile Game category at this year’s Game Awards, which is likely to give it an additional popularity boost.
And despite CyberAgent being faced with almost $4.7 million in losses related to Konami’s patent infringement lawsuit against the game, it seems like the title’s overwhelming success in the West managed to increase the revenue of the company’s gaming division almost six-fold compared to previous year (Source: CyberAgent financial results for FY 2025).

This success is very well deserved. As someone that watched the Anime and became instantly hooked and played the game as soon as it came out in English. It has been worth it and the cherry on top was the massive update for half anniversary that made everything easier to understand and the Dailies are instant. Even for those that are not the best at Sims.
I would say if anyone likes Sim Games, Idol games, or even the older simulation raising sims of the early 00’s it is worth looking into even on YouTube for more info and giving it a try. The Anime series is worth watching as well. It’s very special.
