Ubisoft launches Assassin’s Creed Workout Challenge so you can have a body like your favorite heroes

Ubisoft and The Bioneer have teamed up to create an Assassin's Creed Workout Challenge to get lazy Templars up and moving.

Instead of lying on your back like a lazy Templar while waiting for the release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, why not try the official Assassin’s Creed Workout Challenge? Created by coach Adam Sinicki of The Bioneer for Ubisoft, the workout plan aims to train your body for five weeks, inspired by how famous Assassin’s Creed protagonists might have exercised.

Each week is themed around a different era featured in Assassin’s Creed games, with classic assassin training in week one, pirate training in week two, Spartan training in week three, Viking training in week four, and shinobi and samurai training in week five. All five exercise regimens start with 10 minutes of jumping rope followed by dynamic stretching, whereupon the real exercises begin.

As far as workout plans go, the Assassin’s Creed Workout Challenge seems pretty accurate when it comes to the exercises the protagonists might have done. Tactical pull-ups are a must for any aspiring climber but aren’t as important for a Viking raider. Likewise, low-reaching lizard crawls would allow a stealthy shinobi like Naoe to infiltrate Sengoku-era structures in Japan but wouldn’t be as important for a loud, brash pirate like Edward Kenway, who might have preferred to do bear crawls instead.

Those who choose not to subject their bodies to grueling workouts can still take part in the challenge by following the Assassin’s Creed TikTok page, where a new Assassin’s Creed Workout Challenge video will be posted every week. Putting your favorite Assassin’s Creed character in the comments section of the workout videos gives you the chance to win a digital copy of Assassin’s Creed Shadows upon the game’s launch, which just so happens to be when the Workout Challenge concludes.

If you want to try the challenge for yourself, you can download the official Assassin’s Creed Workout Challenge here. Don’t forget those cooldown exercises either, they’ll save you a world of hurt in the morning!

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is scheduled to be released on March 20 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Mac.
