Nihon Falcom recently announced The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st, a full 3D remake of the first ever title in the long-running Trails series. Commemorating the franchiseās 20-year-anniversary, the revamped RPG is scheduled to launch worldwide in 2025 for the Nintendo Switch.
A trailer accompanying the announcement of Trails in the Skyās remake showcases the beautiful new anime-style characters and environments. But apparently, some people found the graphics a tad ātoo beautiful,ā which made them suspect the involvement of other studios in the remakeās development. These voices were loud enough to reach the ears of Toshihiro Kondo, the president of Nihon Falcom himself.
As reported by GNN, Kondo mentioned at a recent event for Asian media that Trails in the Sky the 1st‘s trailer āwas of such a high quality that some players even suspected it was outsourced to other manufacturers.ā He goes on to assure fans that both the game and videos associated with it are ā100% produced in-house by Nihon Falcom.ā
Kondo doesnāt go into a lot of detail about the remake, but he does comment that it will be a ābright and cheerful entry that fully depicts the vitality and charisma of protagonist Estelle.ā Nihon Falcomās representative hopes that the game will offer an attractive entry point for those who are interested in the Trails/The Legend of Heroes series but donāt know where to start.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st is scheduled to launch in 2025 for the Nintendo Switch. Other platforms and Western publishers are TBD, according to Gematsu.
