Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter is getting regional pricing updates on Steam

Nihon Falcom has announced regional pricing updates for Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter's Steam version, scheduled for October 19.

Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter is Nihon Falcom’s most successful Steam release to date, but its regional pricing (or lack thereof) has been met with a fair degree of disappointment from fans. Exactly one month after its release, the game will finally be getting regional pricing updates that affect certain countries.

Starting October 19, Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, the digital deluxe edition, and associated DLCs will get revised Steam prices for the following currencies:

Indonesian Rupiah
Malaysian Ringgit
Philippine Peso
Thai Baht
Vietnamese Dong
Commonwealth of Independent States – U.S. Dollar
LATAM countries – U.S. Dollar
Middle East and North Africa – U.S. Dollar
Southeast Asia – U.S. Dollar

Though Nihon Falcom has yet to provide the specifics of these price changes, the grace period between the announcement and October 19 is likely meant to provide those in affected countries with a chance to take advantage of any price discrepancies. Players in LATAM countries, for instance, expect the price to increase after October 19, as the game is currently the equivalent of around $30 USD on Steam.

While there are rumors that those who purchased any version of the game or its associated DLC at a higher price will be offered refunds, Nihon Falcom and publisher GungHo Online Entertainment have yet to officially announce anything regarding the matter. Similarly, neither the developers nor the publisher have responded to Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter’s removal from the Russian Steam page one week after it was released.

Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter is available on PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 5. The game also has a Nintendo Switch 2 edition, which can be purchased as an Upgrade Pack for $1 USD.
