The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy devs considering adding even more routes through future DLC

Following the first post-release patch update, The Hundred Line director Kazutaka Kodaka is considering adding new DLC routes to the game.

Too Kyo Games’ story-dense TRPG The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy has been causing quite a stir with its 100 routes, 60-novels-long-script and almost 180 hours of gameplay, with many considering it a contender for GOTY (though the devs don’t quite agree). Now that the first post-release patch featuring quality-of-life enhancements and bug fixes has been released, fans are wondering if there will be any more new routes added to the game, and it seems like the devs are very open to the possibility.

The Hundred Line director Kazutaka Kodaka has always been very open to feedback from fans, casually replying to any comments and suggestions on his X and Bluesky accounts. To a comment asking about more content, Kodaka replied that he wants to eventually add new routes to the game as DLCs. Of course, it’s important to note that this is just Kodaka’s personal wish – no additional routes or DLCs have been officially confirmed as of yet. However, given that Too Kyo Games was created so that its devs would have the freedom to do crazy things that usually wouldn’t be allowed by established companies, it would be completely on-brand for them to drop even more new content for those who have already completed all 100 endings.

For now, the dev team’s goal is to focus on fixing bugs and adding improvements to the game. The patch update released on May 28, among other things, allows players to skip cutscenes and morning/evening chimes much faster, and improves the battle experience for Chapter 0.

On a related note, Kodaka has also expressed his wish to potentially turn The Hundred Line into an anime – however, making anime adaptations can be quite costly, so they will consider it only if the game ends up selling really well.

The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy is out now on Steam and for the Nintendo Switch.
