Tekken 8 developer Katsuhiro Harada reveals details about his fighting stick of choice

When Katsuhiro Harada fought content creator LilyPichu at EVO 2024, fans were interested in what fight stick the Tekken creator used. These questions have now been answered, thanks to Harada himself. Apparently, the creator uses a Hori Fighting Edge joystick arcade controller made specifically for the PlayStation 3 (he could have added an adapter that allows it to be used on a PlayStation 5 at EVO).

What’s interesting about Harada’s Fighting Edge in particular is that it is marked with the serial number “765.” In Japanese, these numbers can be read together as “namuko,” which is the Japanese pronunciation of “Namco” – as in Bandai Namco, the company that develops and publishes the Tekken franchise. Harada must have asked for this specific controller from Hori, as the number means a lot to him. As an added bit of trivia, Harada mentions that he also has the number “765” on his car license plate.

Unfortunately, this version of the Fighting Edge is no longer available through official channels. Players who hope to channel Harada’s Feng will either have to pay a pretty penny for such a controller or hit the lab at Tekken 8 to improve their skills the old-fashioned way.
