Last month, Action Taimanin and Taimanin GOGO publisher Gremory Games announced their free-to-play turn-based RPG Taimanin Squad, a brand-new entry in Lilith’s sexy ninja franchise. The game managed to accumulate over 50,000 registrations in less than 10 days since the initial reveal, and with no time to waste until the scheduled early 2026 release, the developers announced that the game will be entering open beta starting January 15. The beta is currently playable only via the Galaxy Store, but the full release will also be available on iOS and PC (Steam).
The story of Taimanin Squad takes place in the fictional abandoned island of Tokyo Kingdom City. Located 10km from Tokyo Bay’s shore, Tokyo Kingdom City was built with financial backing from the Japanese government, and was supposed to serve as the country’s luxury “second metropolis.” However, the project ended up getting abandoned, turning Tokyo Kingdom City into a virtual “ghost town” overrun by criminals and demons where the strong rule over the weak.
In order to rescue any remaining civilians and restore order to the chaos-ridden island, the Taimanins and United Federation of American-Pacific States (UFS) have sent their troops to deal with the tyrants controlling the city. However, prioritizing the safety of citizens, they decided to retreat, eventually establishing the final line of defense at the entrance of the Tokyo Kingdom Bridge, which is the only route connecting Tokyo Kingdom City and mainland Japan.
In Taimanin Squad, you’ll form parties of up to four members and take down hordes of enemies. According to its official website, the game will feature over 150 unique characters, many of whom are iconic Taimanins from the previous games – such as Asagi Igawa, Kirara Onisaki and Mizuki Shiranui. As per free-to-play conventions, you’ll be able to obtain them via character gacha.
While the game features classic turn-based combat, the huge character roster will allow you to try out many different squad combinations and devise unique tactics. Additionally, you’ll be able to build relationships with your favorite characters and unlock their personal scenarios. Through the personal scenarios, you may find out some tidbits about which characters get along or share a history, and if you group those characters together in a squad, you’ll unlock special team-based attacks and abilities.
Taimanin Squad is set to release in early 2026 for Android, iOS and PC (Steam).
