Suikoden I & II HD Remaster bounces back from delays to get a March 2025 release date
Konami has announced that Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune & Dunan Unification Wars will be releasing on March 6, 2025. It will be available on Nintendo Switch, PS4/PS5, X Box One, XBox Series X|S and PC (Steam).
Suikoden I & II are remakes of the classic 1990s JRPGs that have gathered a cult following over the years. In particular, the PlayStation 1 releases of these games have become highly sought after, with European and American editions often commanding high resale prices.
The much-anticipated remaster was originally slated for release last year, but was delayed back in August 2023, with the official announcement citing the need for more development time.
Suikoden I & II HD Remaster will keep the original’s Battle, War and Duel combat systems. The game’s 2D graphics will be enhanced and redesigned to bring more life and detail to the environments, and the soundtrack has also been given the HD treatment.
The remaster will also feature QoL features- including autosaving, and options to speed up or even automate the game’s turn-based battles to save time. It will also have a cleaner UI, which style keeps the spirit of the original but is easier to use.
Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune & Dunan Unification Wars is scheduled to be released on Nintendo Switch, PS4/PS5, X Box One, XBox Series X|S and PC (Steam) on March 6, 2025.
