Street Fighter 6’s Mai update adds improvements to the World Tour Master system
In addition to Mai Shiranui coming to Street Fighter 6 in the game’s next big update, Capcom announced that it will be improving the World Tour mode; specifically the Masters section. After the update drops on February 5, you will be able to access the “Masters” section in the “Status” menu to view hints on where to find teachers you haven’t met and how to enroll as their disciples.
These hints will be helpful in the base game, but will become even more useful as Street Fighter 6 continues to add more playable characters to its roster. Meeting characters like Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui in World Tour mode requires completing certain steps that aren’t immediately apparent. To meet Terry, for example, you must first become Ryu’s disciple (which requires you to complete Chapter 8-4 of the main story) and complete Chapter 11-4. Only then will you be able to access the “One Fateful Day” scenario from your hangout in Metro City and begin the Knock Out Festival Event where Terry appears.
Currently, Street Fighter 6’s Masters section only shows a character’s profile, fighting style, and location after you have met them. While the updated Masters section will only show hints on where to find a Master you haven’t met yet, the information will be updated once you have enrolled under their unique fighting style. As you interact with the Master and use their techniques, your bond and fighting style rank will be updated respectively.
The Mai Shiranui update arrives on February 5 in Street Fighter 6, which is available for PC (Steam), PS4/PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
