Coming to Street Fighter 6 next year, Fatal Fury’s Mai promises to teach you all the Shiranui techniques you can handle… if you don’t keep her waiting
Capcom reminded us today that Mai Shiranui will be joining the Street Fighter 6 roster of playable characters. The enticing new trailer below hints that the Fatal Fury heroine will be a force to be reckoned with when she comes to Street Fighter 6 in early 2025. She dispatches swarms of ninjas with ease and reminds us that despite her controversial appearance, she is a “good girl.”
Debuting in Fatal Fury 2 back in 1992, Mai Shiranui has also been a regular in SNK’s King of Fighters series. However, she was considered too sexy to add to Nintendo’s family-friendly Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Now SNK’s “rival” to Street Fighter’s Chun Li is coming to Street Fighter 6, joining fellow Fatal Fury character Terry Bogard, who was added back in September.
In the trailer, Mai promises to teach you all the Shiranui techniques you can handle… as long as you don’t keep her waiting. Capcom are also not planning on keeping fans waiting much longer either, as Mai will be added to the game in early 2025. Players will be able to buy her with Fighter Coins, and those with the Year 2 Character Pass/Ultimate Pass will automatically get her when she releases.
Street Fighter 6 is available for PC (Steam), PS4/PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
