Kingdom Hearts composer Yoko Shimomura’s BAFTA Fellowship Award for her contributions to the video game music industry hasn’t slowed her one bit. While Shimomura is still busy working on music for Kingdom Hearts IV, she did manage to contribute music for the upcoming Street Fighter 6 Elena update.
The song “Edge of Triumph” harkens back to Shimomura’s work on Street Fighter II as one of the game’s main composers. It features Shimomura’s iconic piano playing alongside 8-bit tunes reminiscent of classic arcade games. Despite its older influences, Edge of Triumph also includes modern upbeat drum and guitar tracks that anyone will appreciate.

Unlike Street Fighter 6’s classic music packs that require Drive Tickets or the premium Fighter Coins to play retro songs from past Street Fighter titles, Edge of Triumph is a free track that can be played from the in-game Gallery’s “Music” section.

It can also be played during your matches. To do this, open Battle Settings>Other>Battle BGM and open the “Character BGM Settings” menu by pressing the associated input on the lower left-hand side of the screen.

Character BGM Settings will allow you to set multiple tracks for your characters. While the menu gets more cluttered the more tracks you get, you can arrange them by specific categories to make finding specific songs easier.
The Elena update drops on June 5 for Street Fighter 6, which is available for PC (Steam), PS4/PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
