Nitroplus, the Japanese game studio famous for eroge and visual novels such as Saya no Uta and Full Metal Daemon: Muramasa, is currently looking to hire one new scenario writer for its Nitroplus, Nitro Origin, and Nitro Chiral divisions. While the Nitroplus division covers general content aimed at users of all genders and ages, the Nitro Origin and Nitro Chiral divisions specialize in age-restricted and boys’ love (BL) content, respectively.
Though this normally wouldn’t be news, Nitroplus CEO and producer Takaki “Digitarou” Kosaka explains that this is the first time in company’s 26-year history that a job listing for the position has been created. Given that most Nitroplus titles live and breathe on their writing, those eager to flex their writing chops are encouraged to apply.

According to the Nitroplus recruitment page, while a scenario writer may occasionally be tasked with writing anime scripts and novelizations, their primary task will be game development. Unlike its recent project Dolls Nest, where the roles of game designer and scenario writer were split between two people, Nitroplus is looking for someone who can wear both hats. Depending on the writer’s experience, they might start as a sub-writer before being handed the full role.
