During the June 9 Nintendo Direct, Square Enix announced Final Fantasy Resonance, set to release on October 22.

The title is described as a return to the Final Fantasy series’ roots, featuring cinematic pixel art in the HD-2D style seen in Dragon Quest and Octopath Traveler titles. The protagonist is a knight tasked with the mission of protecting the eight magic crystals that sustain the world from a vengeful dark warrior. You’ll explore the world with a party of allies and fight seemingly turn-based battles.

Final Fantasy Resonance is set to launch on October 22, 2026.
