Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance to unexpectedly feature at UK rock music festival

Among the many rock and heavy metal bands, Atlus’s RPG Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is coming to Download Festival this year. The outdoor music festival, held in Leicestershire in England, will feature Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance gaming stations, allowing festival goers to get a taste of what it’s like to battle and befriend demons as isekai’d high school students.

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is the definitive version of 2021’s Shin Megami Tensei V. Players can look forward to various QoL improvements and additions, including new demons, dungeons and even a whole new “Canon of Vengeance” story route. The game will be released on multiple platforms on June 14 2024. Download Festival XXI is scheduled to be held from June 14 to 16. So, if you fancy getting in some gaming between artists like Baby Metal, The Offspring and Queens of the Stone Age- here’s your chance. Vengeance might also provide a good respite from the rain and mud that often grace England’s outdoor music events.

The announcement has caused some confused reactions, as Download Festival is first and foremost a music event. However, Shin Megami Tensei’s dark gothic vibes and ambient/rock soundtrack could be said to fit the alternative festival rather well.

Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance is scheduled to release on June 14 for the PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), Nintendo Switch, PS4/PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
