Sega’s Virtua Fighter is finally coming to Steam with Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O, boasting rollback and 4K graphics

Sega has announced that the Virtua Fighter series will be coming to Steam for the first time with Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. Developed by Like a Dragon’s Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, the upgraded fighting game is scheduled to launch this Winter. A cinematic trailer and Steam store page were made public today.

Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O is based on Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown, adding new features like rollback netcode, 4K graphics, 60fps, game balance adjustments, as well as updated character models, stages and cinematics.

This will be the first time the Virtua Fighter series gets rollback, which reduces delays during online matches. According to Sega, the balance adjustments will focus on things most frequently requested by players up till now.

Apart from the traditional game modes, Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O will include a new online Tournament mode that can support up to 16 participants, as well as an online League mode.

Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O is scheduled to launch for the PC (Steam) this Winter. The launch will coincide with the release of the Ver. 2.0 balance update for Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown.
