Romancing SaGa 2 remake voice actress discovered the original game through her gamer grandma
Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven is the upcoming full 3D remake of the 1993 Super Famicom RPG Romancing SaGa 2. Along with various QoL improvements, it will have both Japanese and English voice acting. Japanese voice actress Eri Inagawa, who plays the thief character Cat, recently took to X to reveal her heartwarming memories of the SaGa series, which surprised commenters.
The news that the voice actress’s grandmother was an avid gamer who got her interested in video games surprised several commenters on the voice actress’s post. Many seemed to find the situation rather sweet, and others were even a little jealous of Inagawa for having such a cool grandma. With her plan to give the remaster of the game to her grandmother as a present, their connection to this RPG has gone full circle. One commenter noted that they could feel her fondness for her grandmother in the posts.
The Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven remake is part of Square Enix’s ongoing Saga Project to update the classic JRPG franchise for modern consoles and audiences. The Romancing SaGa 2 remake will re-work the battle and character growth systems. It will also feature difficulty settings and the option to choose between the original or arranged soundtrack.
Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven is scheduled to be released on PS4/PS5 and Nintendo Switch on October 24. The Steam version will be available from October 25.
Always glad to see remakes of classics that defined games we know today. I hope Square Enix still holds Japanese values for this game and does not have any censorship and translation issues.
