Nanairo Enterprise’s roguelike tower defense shooter, TurretGirls, is about to give players a new reason to keep their eyes on the screen. On March 19, 2026, publishers DANGEN Entertainment and Game Source Entertainment released a free update for the game that, alongside some quality-of-life improvements, includes a highly customizable Photo Mode for the main heroine.
TurretGirls follows a lone cute-looking member of the Planetary Alien Neutralization & Tactical Strike Unit (P.A.N.T.S.U.), named Girl, as she defends a futuristic Earth from relentless alien attacks. The new update leans heavily into showing Girl’s appeal by allowing players to “shoot” her in various poses in a dedicated photo mode, with different backgrounds, screen effects, and wardrobe choices to pick from.
Previously, the protagonist’s uniform would gradually tear only in the heat of battle, literally ripping to shreds as you take damage. However, with this new update, players can manually set the state of the pilot’s outfit inside the photo session. Additionally, players will also be able to customize the girl’s facial expressions and directly interact with her to elicit unique reactions while taking photos. For those curious, an “unclothed” wardrobe option has also been confirmed.
The update will also introduce per-item visual loadouts. With the new feature, each piece of equipment can be assigned a separate visual appearance, and players will be free to create their preferred look while maintaining their current stats and performance.
According to TurretGirls’ development roadmap on Steam, the photo mode and shop experience will receive more updates in later planned phases, along with a new character and a multiplayer mode.
TurretGirls is available for PC (Steam).
