Palworld has been watched on Twitch for over 78 million hours, making it the platform’s most popular release of 2024
Streams Charts has published a list of top video game titles released in 2024 (as of July 17) ranked based on peak viewership on Twitch. At the top of the list is Palworld, with an overwhelming lead over other releases (as noticed by Game*Spark).
Releasing on January 19 in Early Access, PocketPair’s monster raising survival game took Steam sales and concurrent player charts by storm, swiftly topping 25 million players. Palworld also became a popular choice among Twitch streamers and viewers alike, and has as of July 17 reached 434k peak viewers and amassed 78.74 million hours watched.
For reference, Enshrouded and Arena Breakout: Infinite came in second and third place respectively, tied at 218k peak users and with 16 million hours watched.
While Palworld’s momentum was the strongest right after its launch, its recent big Sakurajima update resulted in a significant boost in players, and the franchise is set to keep expanding with the establishment of Palworld Entertainment, a joint venture between PocketPair, Aniplex and Sony Music Entertainment.
I still think of Palworld as Japan’s version of Minecraft or at least close to it according to the data shown here.
