Nitroplus released a demo version of their upcoming game Dolls Nest. The demo will be available from February 14 until March 30, 2025, with the full game slated to come out shortly after.
Dolls Nest is a 3D mech customization action game set in the post-apocalyptic looking world of Hod, which is located inside a massive crater. You take on the role of a mech girl who must explore the industrial ruins of Hod, battling armored units and scavenging for limited resources as you seek to uncover the world’s secrets. Danger seems to lie around every corner, so customizing your Frame Unit mech with suitable parts and piloting it wisely will be key to clearing the game.

To move on to a new part of the Hod, you must defeat area bosses and deal with any events that you might trigger along the way. Dodging, accelerating, jumping and using your weapons all consume energy, so you must use your mech’s abilities carefully. Use too much energy at once, and your mech will overheat and come to a halt, leaving you vulnerable to attack.

The demo lets players try out the tutorial and the beginning of the story. At the start, players can pick short-range, mid-range, or long-range weaponry for their mechs. Although some aspects of the demo will be different from the full game, it gives players a sense of Dolls Nest’s basic mechanics, gameplay, story and setting. The Steam Community post gives detailed information about the game’s controls for both keyboard and controllers.
Dolls Nest was originally slated for a 2024 release, but Nitroplus postponed the game to Spring 2025 in order to polish up the quality. The game will be featured in the upcoming Steam Next Fest, which starts on February 24.
The Dolls Nest demo is available on Steam until March 30, 2025. The full game is set to release in Spring 2025.
