Idea Factory and Compile Heart have announced Neptunia: Unlimited (Japanese: 超新時空ゲイム ネプテューヌ∞; official English title TBD) the newest mainline installment in the Hyperdimension Neptunia franchise, set to release on August 27 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The long-awaited title, launching more than 10 years after the latest mainline entry in the RPG series, Megadimension Neptunia VII, has been revealed via a special livestream on the Compile Heart Official YouTube Channel.

Aside from classic characters like Neptune (Purple Heart), Blanc (White Heart), Vert (Green Heart), and Noir (Black Heart), the title introduces some brand-new characters into its roster. This includes Rogue (Red Heart), the timid new CPU (Console Patron Unit) of Sweenia, and her friend Ciel (Blue Heart), the social media-savvy CPU of Lastation. Furthermore, for the first time ever, the series will introduce a dual CPU, Anna and Lotte, Guardian Goddesses of Leanbox who fuse into Eclipse Heart.

The story will seemingly take place in a brand-new timeline, in which Neptune and her comrades will have to face the “true end,” and stand against the Apocalypse threatening to destroy the world over and over again.

Apparently, the gameplay of Neptunia: Unlimited will be heavily centered around flying, with many of the gimmicks and combat happening in mid-air. Furthermore, the “Apocalypse Battle” mode (unofficial translation) invites all of the goddesses to face off against a colossal Apocalypse Boss. By skillfully utilizing Apocalypse Counter Skills, you’ll be able to block the hard-hitting special attacks expelled by the boss, and use that power to strike back.

Neptunia: Unlimited (tentative) is set to release on August 27, 2026, for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The official English title will be announced at a later date.
