Multiplayer paranormal activity investigation game coming to Steam on April 12
Japanese indie developer Kimidori Soft launched the Steam store page for School Paranormal Laboratory on March 27. The title is planned to release on April 12 and will be available in English and Japanese.
School Paranormal Laboratory is a 3D horror game in which you become an investigator of paranormal phenomena, searching for and retrieving cursed objects. You belong to a research institute that studies paranormal activity occurring in schools. Field investigations are carried out in teams of four, and the game supports both single player and online co-op play.
Gameplay consists of patrolling school buildings late at night and securing cursed objects to achieve the target curse meter for each mission. You are also tasked with observing paranormal phenomena, which will occur occasionally as you search the school. In order to record data of the phenomena with your “smart glasses,” you need to keep any paranormal event at the center of your field of view as they happen. At the same time, School Paranormal Laboratory requires you to keep track of your sanity meter, which will decrease when in the dark or holding cursed objects.
Aside from the previously mentioned smart glasses that provide the player with information, you will be equipped with a helmet that can have special chips implanted into it. This allows you to use various beneficial effects that will help your investigation.
The developer of School Paranormal Laboratory is Kimidori Soft, who have previously released titles such as Takoyaki Party Survival (in which you need to survive for as long as possible by eating nothing but takoyaki), Toilet Paper Wants to be a Basketball, Tumbleweed Destiny, and Sacabambaspis Chronicles.
School Paranormal Laboratory is scheduled to release on April 12 for the PC (Steam).
