After being tied to limited-time Event and Free Challenge quests since April, Arch-Tempered Rey Dau is finally becoming a permanent huntable monster by way of Monster Hunter Wilds’ “A Silent Flash” Event Quest. Now that players won’t have to wait for the quest’s return, they can acquire the Rey Dau Certificate γ and monster materials needed to craft the Rey Dau γ Hunter armor pieces and Felyne Rey Dau γ Palico armor pieces.

Just to be clear, you won’t find an Arch-Tempered Rey Dau out in the wild, nor can you hop into an ongoing mission via SOS Flare Quests. As before, you must be at least Hunter Rank (HR) 50 to start the “A Silent Flash” Event Quest from any of your Base Camps or Pop-up Camps (you can also talk to your Handler or Lotta at the Grand Hub). Once the quest has been accepted, you and any Support or player Hunters will be able to hunt the thunderous monster.
The Arch-Tempered Rey Dau has more health and deals more damage than the regular and Tempered versions of the monster. On top of its iconic “railgun” attacks, it also has a fair share of wing swipes and tail slams that deal a good amount of physical damage. Monster Hunter Wilds is available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).
