Monster Hunter Wilds’ new Zoh Shia Hammers remind players of a white Xbox so much there’s already a mod to replace them

Monster Hunter Wilds’ update dropped last week, and there's already a mod poking fun at the very rectangular new Zoh Shia Hammers.

When Monster Hunter Wilds’ Free Update 1 dropped last week, people were quick to draw comparisons between the new Zoh Shia Hammers and Microsoft’s Xbox Series S console. Now, thanks to Neus Mods user HeyYallScottHere2, players can actually replace the hammers with their “true” forms by downloading the “Xbox Over Zoh Shia Hammer” mod.

Zoh Shia Hammers

The Zoh Uria I and Blazing Uria are remarkably different from the other Hammers because of their unique shape. Instead of having a round face and features similar to their namesake monster, the hammers’ sharp edges and almost-uniform geometry cause them to be classified by many as a “block on a stick.” The only indicator that the hammers come from a Zoh Shia is their clean, pastel-white hue – a color scheme similar to that of the classic Microsoft Xbox Series S.

When viewed from afar, the reskinned hammers don’t look too far removed from their default appearances. As with all unofficial mods, only those who install the “Xbox Over Zoh Shia Hammer” mod will be able to see the weapon altered in-game. HeyYallScottHere2 was also kind enough to add a Minecraft Mace reskin for the Hope Hammer, just in case some weren’t feeling the Xbox plug.

Monster Hunter Wilds is out now on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).
