Monster Hunter Wilds has almost 20k concurrent Steam players, and the beta hasn’t even started yet

Preload for the all-platform Monster Hunter Wilds open beta test started today. The beta itself is scheduled to run from November 1 until November 4, but players on Steam have already started congregating in significant numbers.

At the moment, you cannot enter Monster Hunter Wilds’ servers. All you can do is download the game and set the language, but according to SteamDB, there have already been as many as 18,521 players running the beta client concurrently.

For the Steam version of Monster Hunter Wilds, shaders are compiled when the game is launched for the first time, and depending on your set-up, this may take some time. So, if you want to start playing the game as soon as possible, it might be a good idea to download the beta test client early. The PC spec requirements for Monster Hunter Wilds are quite high too, so you may want to check those out on Capcom’s official site or Steam before the beta begins.

Meanwhile, PS Plus users who got a taste of Monster Hunter Wilds starting October 29 have made various discoveries about the game’s detailed combat and unexpected accessibility modes

Monster Hunter Wilds is scheduled to be released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam) on February 28, 2025. The all-platform open beta will be held from November 1 to November 4.
