Monster Hunter Wilds: cheating in Time-Based Competition Quests can get your account suspended, Capcom warns

Capcom issues warning against cheating or using "external tools" in Monster Hunter Wilds' upcoming time-based quests.

Before the Monster Hunter Wilds’ Free Title Update 1 launches later this week, Capcom warns that anyone caught cheating or using external tools in quest types where players compete for the fastest completion times will be subject to appropriate penalties. These new quests will be available in the Grand Hub – a central area where players gather.

Depending on the severity of the offense, cheaters can have their accounts restricted, preventing them from being placed on leaderboards and denying any associated rewards. The worst offenders will have their accounts suspended.

As Monster Hunter Wilds is a social game, parties with cheaters will have their completion times deemed invalid and no rewards will be given. The developers encourage players to report any forms of cheating to prevent their time-ranked quest runs from being voided. This can be done by going to the offending player’s Hunter Profile and selecting Report

For those who want to go on these time-ranked quests alone, it is possible to complete them and earn the rewards solo or with the game’s AI Support Hunters. You can find all the details and rules regarding Time-Based Competition Quests on the Monster Hunter Wilds webpage

Monster Hunter Wilds is out now on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam). The game’s Free Title Update 1 releases on April 3 PT.
