Following Mecha Break’s successful launch on PC and Xbox Series X|S, Amazing Seasun Games is already working on improving the live-service experience for players. Amidst the upcoming improvements and updates, the studio is also planning to expand the franchise into other media.

In an interview with Game*Spark, Amazing Seasun Games CEO and Mecha Break lead Kris Kwok expressed his desire to expand the IP further. This seems like a natural step for Kwok, as popular mecha franchises like Gundam and Macross (both of which Kwok loved as a child and inspired Mecha Break’s creation) have also branched out into big transmedia projects
“I want to develop Mecha Break in various ways as an IP in the future. Like the trailers we have released so far, I want to make different things, such as anime and novels. Also, I’m currently working on making figures.”
Kwok’s remarks on the Mecha Break trailers and figures are interesting. Mecha Break’s trailers have an oddly cinematic flair to them, as though they are hinting at more story-driven content. The figures are intriguing for a different reason. Though the Striker mechas are the stars of the show, the pilot designs also have a great amount of detail. It will be interesting to see how Mecha Break figures will reflect the wealth of customization options the game offers to players.
Mecha Break’s unique deathmatch and extraction modes make it stand out from other mecha games, while its overarching storyline – involving a rapidly spreading mineral called Corite – provides some context as to why everyone is shooting each other in giant robots. Provided Amazing Seasun Gamesexpands Mecha Break’s story and lore through other media platforms, the franchise has the potential to expand into a more elaborate universe.
Mecha Break is available for PC (Windows) and Xbox Series X|S. A PlayStation 5 version is slated for release later in 2025.
