Before Marvel Rivals releases its chaotic Clone Rumble mode on March 7, NetEase Games is adding two new costumes to the game: the Lingering Imprint for Venom and Twilight Duo for Cloak and Dagger. While Venom’s costume is based on the comics, Cloak and Dagger’s new duds are brand new and designed exclusively for Marvel Rivals.
Venom’s Lingering Imprint costume is based on his appearance in 2018’s Venom #8, where the Codex of Flash Thompson momentarily takes over the Venom symbiote worn by Eddie Brock (it is also loosely based on Flash’s Agent Venom costume). As with many of Venom’s in-game costumes, Lingering Imprint is made to look larger and more menacing to fit the character model. The costume also doesn’t have a mouth opening, so you won’t see Venom’s extra-large tongue lolling around when swinging through the game’s maps.
Cloak and Dagger’s Twilight Duo costume seems to be going for a more Italian mob-like feel. According to in-game lore, the two heroes don these sharp outfits in the streets of Sicily. Cloak’s black and purple suit reflects his ability to control the darkforce, while Dagger’s white and gold suit echoes her lightforce powers. Healing allies and damaging enemies will undoubtedly look more stylish with these suits on.
Both the Lingering Imprint and Twilight Duo costumes will be available in-game starting March 7 at 2 pm UTC.
