Marvel Rivals to add Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 suit to celebrate the latter’s PC launch
To commemorate the upcoming launch of Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PC, Marvel Rivals will release the Advanced Suit 2.0 costume for Spider-Man on January 30, 9:00 UTC. The Advanced Suit 2.0 will be available in-store along with various cosmetics for other characters.
As Peter Parker’s primary suit in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the Advanced Suit 2.0 features two improvements over its predecessor. Web Wings are traversal tools that allow Spider-Man to glide long distances when used in tandem with web swinging and wind tunnels found throughout New York City. The suit’s Spider-Arms (created using technology based on Dr. Octopus’s robot tentacles) are more versatile, as they can be used to parry attacks, perform finishers, aid with traversal, and much more.
Marvel Rivals might feature some of the tools of the Advanced Suit 2.0, but their inclusion will likely be cosmetic to avoid unfair advantages. The Spider-Man: No Way Home suit, which is another Spider-Man costume in Marvel Rivals, features similar Spider-Arms that cannot be used during gameplay. The Spider-Arms only appear in a special MVP screen, encouraging players to do their best to make the most of their cosmetic purchase.
With its white spider emblem and sportswear-like design, both the Advanced Suit and its successor have become some folks’ favorite Spider-Man suit. Having it be included in one of the world’s most-played multiplayer games allows fans of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 to swing around in style while fighting their enemies.
Marvel Rivals is available for PS5, Windows, and Xbox Series X|S. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is available for PS5, with a PC port coming on January 30, 2025.
