During last month’s INDIE Live Expo 2025, Magical Girl Witch Trials developer Acacia in partnership with publisher G-MODE revealed a brand-new trailer and some more details about their upcoming game The Streamer’s Alt Account Labyrinth. The “sickly sweet” visual novel RPG, slated to launch in 2026, will be Acacia’s first game with an official English release.
The Streamer’s Alt Account Labyrinth follows the story of an all-girl band Rag Drops who, after being engulfed with accusations of heinous crimes in an online witch-hunt, get sucked into the otherworld “Urau,” where the darkest corners of social media become real. The game will feature two distinct phases: dungeon exploration and visual novel sections.
In dungeon exploration sections, you will be tasked with navigating a monster-infested maze which is a literal physical manifestation of somebody’s secret alt account. Your final goal is to hunt down its owner who is hiding somewhere in the depths of the labyrinth, and get out of the dungeon in one piece. On the other hand, the visual novel sections will be more akin to a social deduction game. You’ll have to identify who the true owner of the twisted dungeon maze is, and give the culprit a proper public execution.
While the teaser trailers released so far only showcase the characters and visual concept of the title, its description on the Steam store page suggests that the game might have actual combat elements in the dungeon exploration section. However, it is yet to be seen what shape the combat might take and whether its going to be action, turn-based, or something completely different.
On a related note, Acacia have announced another “dark magical girl” game titled Magical Girl Village (Mahou Shoujo no Inshuu Mura, unofficial translation), set to release in 2026 on Steam and Nintendo Switch. Additionally, the developers recently said that they will also be looking into possibly releasing an English version of Magical Girl Witch Trials, following the hit novel’s overwhelming success.
