Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP was not asked to make changes for any platform, producer says
As the worldwide digital launch of Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP draws closer, the title’s producer Yoshimi Yasuda has been giving various updates on progress via his personal X account. This morning, he chimed in to let us know that the zombie hack-and-slash title’s remastered version is almost done being approved for all platforms. The title is scheduled to be released for PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X❘S and Nintendo Switch.
In addition, Yasuda notes that there have been no requests from platform holders for Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP to revise its content, which is “very important for us, the original staff.” Yasuda was the executive producer of Grasshopper Manufacture’s original Lollipop Chainsaw from 2012, and has been very passionate in ensuring that the new remaster does not betray fans’ expectations, maintaining transparent communication ever since the initial announcement.
With 4K and 60fps support, RePOP will revamp Lollipop Chainsaw with QOL improvements, new gameplay features, combat adjustments and cosmetics. As revealed in the first trailer, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP will have an Original Mode and a RePOP mode to choose from, the latter of which will have less explicit depictions of violence and use pop-art damage effects.
Preorders for the title are expected to open soon. Yasuda has also hinted that there is some “surprise news” waiting for fans.
Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP will be releasing digitally on September 25 this year for the PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X❘S and Nintendo Switch. A physical worldwide release will be announced at a later date.
